to Accel : Do you have now games "Fallout" and "Fallout-2"? I need it to rewrite on my disks.
I've recently bought a DVD with Fallout (Fargus), Fallout-2 (Fargus), Fallout Tactics and The Fall: Last days of Ghaia, 4 in 1 (still on sale in CD-shop on the 1st floor in Burevestnik trade center).
(I've recovered English texts manually, some interface bitmaps remained unfortunately Russian: original English Fallouts are very hard to get, only by e-bays and stuff like that).
(note: 1st floor is 2nd in Russian notation)

Lately, i watched (on REN-TV channel) some "high-intellectual", as n13 likes say "darn American" film. The movie is called as "Ikona"(transliterated, dont remember how it's in English context, maybe just "(the) Icon"). Does anybody see that too? Making a slip in discussion i should notice that after all i didn't comprehend the sense of such name. Perhaps i was watchin' that inattentively
When TV-men have (jokingly) announced me word for word only the following: "The Russia is great, highly developed country! There are people each of whom can understand English as well as speak!", i decided to glance at show... There was a lot of fun while watching. In russian there were only speaches of welcome and mere phrases. Even if it were so it wouldn't been so awfull. But one can see english letters, words and phrases even at transparencies which people carry when common mass-meetings break.
Now it's evident for me the Hollywood movie theater is not changing the treatment of Russia at all last times. Why? Doesn't even try? Or because Yankees cant present russian life in their films by nature? There was some tolerable non-english foreign movies about Russia, i have seen. But none of American.
p.s.
Oh yeah! I've got a conception of the filmname! "Icon" means a general model how to do films about Russia/
p.p.s.
Advise to watch that movie to all/

What for? People love their prejudices 'n' treat 'em well. As one famous newsman once said "Who cares 'bout truth"? Man, look. Recall those last *successfull* stories of WWII like Saving Private Ryan and so and you'd not ask such a question for the second time. That success *SUCKS*! At least for us Russians. At the other hand, the legend of the triumphant U.S. Army which *MADE* the war victorious's very popular in the rest world. As for an ordinary american, a couple dozen o' fools landed in Normandy have made much more than all the the other allied armies to the moment. And those *battles* that stand close to our Stalingrad and Kursk by the scale: tell me, have you ever heard 'bout THE GREAT BATTLES OF IWO JIMA or WAKE ISLAND? What the heck?! I've even meet difficulties in locating those darn places on the world map!
So that's the way it is. We love prejudices and we hate truth, psychology, u know? Fahrenheit-911 in the US would never meet the success of Pearl Harbor. America LOVES the idea of a dumbass president, so any exposures of a smart one are met inhospitable. And as long as cinema industry exists for money-pumping, not for enlightenment - the result is what it is. Who cares 'bout truth?
